S2 Seasons
S2 Seasons The series of S2 Seasons brings a wide variety of open wheel cars on track for the OWRL members. In one season, cars like the Formula BMW, Formula XR and Formula V8 will be used. These seasons are open for everyone and we will line up as much servers as needed to accommodate all drivers. Races are on Saturday evening on a bi-weekly basis. All you need to join is sign up for each event and prepare!
S2 Season 21 The current season is S2 Season 21 and is a six round competition to search for the fastest open wheel racer. Three cars will be used, The Formula XR and the Formula V8. Each car is used for two races, one on a regular, well known LFS track and one on an open layout. Sprint races will be about 15 minutes long. The main race is around 45 minutes. For the FO8 rounds, a mandatory pitstop is required in which you will need to at least change all four tyres.
Calendar # date: car track R1 29-09: FBM Aston Classic (A32) R2 13-10: FBM Fern Bay Gold R3 27-10: FOX Westhill International rev R4 10-11: FOX Kyoto North (K21) R5 24-11: FO8 Aston Grand North (A71) R6 08-12: FO8 Blackwood GP
Participation Any drivers with a valid LFS license can join the events. To do so, you must have an account on this site. Once you are a member on the site, you will need to register for each of the events you are planning to participate in. You can find the events under "Upcoming Events". You will also need to have a valid pb or hotlap time in order to be allowed to take part. For the open layout events we cannot check the PB online, so for those round you will need to set a time on the training server.
Event For each event, the server info will be posted in our forum in about two hours before the race. The servers open for free practice. At 20:00 CET a 15 minute qualifying session starts. This determines the starting grid for the sprint race. The starting grid for the main race is based on the finishing order of the sprint race, however the top 8 starting positions are reversed.
Points See the image at the bottom of this page. Drivers who do not finish will get no points, unless they cover at least 80% of the distance in laps. The 1st driver on the next server will be placed directly behind the last driver to get points on the faster server. The winner on server 2 and 3 will get a bonus of 5 points, the number 2 gets 3 extra points and the 3rd place driver 1. - In Qualifying, the bonus for 1st three places are 3 points, 2 points and 1 point. In a season the worst result (sprint/main race combined) is dropped. This means, if a driver completes and scores points at all six events, the event he scored the least points is discarded. - In phase 1 and 2: For the sprint race 33,33% of these points will be awarded. For the main this is 66,67% for a total of 100%. - In phase 3: as there is only a main race, 100% of the points shown below will be awarded.
In a season the worst result is dropped. The points are compared on a per event basis. This means, if a driver completes and scores points at all six events, the event he scored the least points in is discarded. If a driver misses an event, that automatically will become his worst result.
Team championship & Points The best driver and the best team will be crowned. For the team championship, teams can compete with one or more drivers. All you need is to have a team tag in your name. In any race, the best two drivers of the team can score points for that team. In Div B, the sprint race and main race will count as separate races. Qualifying points are counted with the sprint race.
The rule for the drivers championship that discards the worst result is not in effect for the team championship. All points scored at all 6 events will count towards the team championship.
The teams are fixed in the way drivers race at that event, meaning that if a teamless driver joins a team the points he scored at a previous round will not count for that team. His future points will of course. Drivers may change teams during the season, they will simply start scoring points for their new team.
Servers: OWRL Div B1 OWRL Div B2 (more if needed)
Drivers will be assigned onto one of these servers by hotlap / pb. To participate in any event, the driver will need to sign in at the upcoming event and will have to have set a time on the pronounced track before signup deadline. If an open layout is used, drivers will need to set their time on the OWRL training server to be eligible to participate. Drivers are allowed to join mid-season.
Time Table sprint/main: 19:30 - Server open 20:00 - Qualifying (15 minutes) 20:20 - Sprint race (±15 minutes) 5 min break 20:40 - Main race(±45 minutes)

It is admins fault when they ignore what people say on the server, there were other people besides me who had the same problem of not being able to race because of this.
