FBM Trophy The Formula BMW has been the latest addition to the open wheel cars in Live For Speed. The Open Wheel Racing League uses this car to host the FBM Trophy. The 2010 edition of the OWRL FBM Trophy will run in August and September.
2010 The FBM Trophy will be contested over 4 events. Each race event consist of a qualifying race, a sprint race and a main race.
The starting grid of the qualifying race will be decided by the tracker times as they stand at signup deadline (17:00 CEST on race day). The result of the qualifying race decides the starting grid of the sprint race. The starting grid of the main race will be the finishing order of the sprint race with the top 8 reversed.
Races are held on sunday evening and start at 19:30.
Calendar: R1 08 Aug - Fern Bay Gold R2 15 Aug - South City Town R3 29 Aug - Aston Club (special layout) R4 12 Sep - Blackwood GP rev
Race procedures Participation is open for everyone with the only requirement that you signup for the events at their entries under 'upcoming events' and set an online time before signup deadline. You will need an account at this site to be able to signup. Multiple servers will be used if more than 24 drivers sign up.
We use a special tool to get the times at exactly the signup deadline which will always be more up-to-date than the tracker. The tracker only gives an indication of your server and starting spot. This and the server name and password will be announced in our forum 2 hours before the event.
Events schedule: 19:30 Qualifying race - 10 minutes, grid order based on tracker 19:50 Race 1 - 15 minutes 20:10 5 minute break 20:15 Race 2 - 30 minutes (top 8 reversed)
Layout In case a layout is used, such as at Aston Club , the layout will be installed on the training servers before the event and will be available on our site for download. Drivers are allowed to drive a pb at the normal Aston Club track. We will use whatever time is on LFS World to divide the drivers over the grids.
Points Points are awarded with 50% of the full Div B points for both the sprint race and the main race. Additionally, the top 3 in the qualifying race will get 3, 2 and 1 point(s) for their positions.
